Foundation Chronicles|Benefit Hello Flawless

I am a big fan of a nice light weight base product and when Benefit launched their Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow (dumbest name ever.) a few years back  I was immediately drawn in. Unfortunately on it's initial launch there was not a shade light enough for me in the lineup. Since then Benefit has added and subtracted shades one of which being the lightest of the bunch called "I'm Pure 4 Sure" Ivory.

Now purity puns aside this color is perfect for my winter pale complexion and when I made my last and only Sephora Purchase from the month of January I added this to my cart from a promo code so I could finally text the formula.

This foundation is actually everything it claims to be on the tube. You get a surprisingly medium coverage with a beautiful lightweight feel. In comparison to my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua this is more hydrating, which is ideal for the winter months and, seems to last longer as the day goes on. This like my Chanel regular builds nicely on itself for additional coverage in the various places where I have some redness or discoloration and never really appears to look like makeup.

The only drawback I've found is that it does seem to suffer from some flashback issues. With an SPF of 25 is defineitly doesn't lend itself to events where flash photography is a factor. I made this mistake (because the sample I have didn't have the SPF labeled...oops!) and I ended up tagged in a few photos where my face really doesn't match the rest of me.

Not really a deal breaker but definitely something to be well aware of.

If you are in the market for a nice light weight daytime foundation Benefet's Hello Flawless is a really great option made even better now by a slightly expanded shade range,

As a bonus...
...this Coastal Scents (Crown) Brush in the number BR-C-S49 has become my new favorite buffing brush. I had been using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush but have not reached for it since I picked this up before Christmas. This one has more surface area and the slight angle makes applying almost any fasy, easy and, nearly foolproof.

This is really a standout item that you could pay a whole lot more for from other lines that claim to be budget friendly.  Whether you are on a budget or not I would recommend this as an addition to any beauty buff's collection.
