Just a Dusting

The one thing I seem to be able to successfully keep in my collection one at a time is face powder. I'm not sure if it's because it's less fun to buy than other base or color products or if it's because I go through it faster than any other product in my collection.

It's the one thing I always manage to show the most loyalty to as well. I find myself finding a formula I love, going back to it two or three times and then move on to something new.

There were quite a few new to me formulas on my international "to buy" list so for the first time in months I have more than one compact to work my way through.

Makeup Bag Extras

Sometimes the things that make us feel the prettiest are not the best looking things in and of themselves.
Today (well yesterday, I'm behind this week.) I want to talk about all the not so pretty things in my makeup bag that make me feel extra good some days.

In Defense of Inexspensive Brushes

So before Christmas I did a few words on why I think sometimes it's worth it to shell out on exspensive brushes.
I mentioned in that post that I was going to mention a couple of brushes that I've gotten at a bargain price that really measure up to some of their high-end alternatives.

These two babies came home to me after Coastal Scents had their 50% sale on Black Friday and I could not be happier with them.

In Defense of Exspensive Brushes

I am a big believer in budget beauty tools.
I think more is gained by putting the money into the product rather than putting money into the tool if you are in a position where you have to choose.
There are so many budget brushes out there that are an amazing value for money.
There is more to come on that topic from me next week but, today I want to talk about putting extra money into unique tools that will give you the results that budget alternatives can't.

I bought my first Wayne Goss brush from Beautylish on Black Friday and I am seriously in love.

Ed Note: DIY Brow Grooming

I have been a long time advocate of do it yourself eyebrow grooming.
I know every time I say this I can see the shock on people's faces.
What?!
Do them yourself?
Yes.
Do them yourself.

With a few simple tools, about twenty minutes and a good magnifying mirror your brows will be back with no appointment and no botched jobs.

Capsule Wardrobe|Beauty Tools

When it comes to the beauty industry every you turn around there is a new tool or a new gadget that claims to make you beautiful in a fraction of the time.
There is seemingly no gimmick stone left unturned when marketing beauty to men and women.
It really is not that complicated.
I think there are really only a few things I think everyone needs to put together a nicely groomed look on a day to day basis and they do not have to be expensive or electronic or from an infomercial.

Give Good Face

Sometimes the tools make all the difference.
I think that is especially true when you talk about base products.
While I think finger application is often a more everyday woman reality sometimes when you get your hands on the right brush you can save time and look great.

It's especially nice when you can make this happen for around $9.

The Hangover Facial

So let's get real. If you have a serious hangover you are not going to do this. Some days your are just bed bound until dinnertime-no shame, we've all been there but this little setup is not intended for those days.

Although on the days where you're feeling a little worse for the wear but have to get going anyway it is always a good idea to have a product lineup that gets things moving.

Let's do this one step at a time...

I'm A Big Fan

Confession: I have never owned a fan brush. Of all the brushes in my beauty arsenal, they seemed to be the most unnecessary.

Then it happened. I needed to spend 3$ more dollars at Ulta to use my $3.50 coupon. So this $6.99 Eco Tools Jumbo Fan Brush slipped and fell into my basket.
