Fresh Coat

Guys it's almost here! I've been bitching for months about the weather and the hot hot hot Summer. (In reality it wasn't really that hot, I'm just dramatic.) Now the mother-load of seasons, especially in NYC, is knocking on our door.

Makeup rules in general I believe are pretty much bullshit but, something about the cooler air makes me reach for all of the navy, burgandy, emerald, and eggplant shades my collection has to offer.

Since I tend to have a love hate relationship with the application of any and all neon nail polish my fall wardrobe tends to make it's debut on my tips.

This means today is all about the best of my Fall polish wardrobe.

First the shade actually pictured on my nails above is OPI Muir Muir On the Wall which came out last year with the San Francisco collection. I love this one for the bit of "lit from within" shimmer to it. It also really walks a fine line between a red and a brown which practically makes it the national color of Fall. ( That's not a thing at all.)

Of the remaining favorites Essie's Clutch Me if you Can is a classic and as far as I can tell a necessary shade for any collector. It is a jelly finish, deep blood red. It is Halloween in a bottle. When you layer this up you get the perfect, slightly translucent and candy-like finish on your nails. This is not just a fall favorite, this polish easily falls into the forever favorite category.

I always like to throw a holo into the mix because I think it is easily my favorite nail polish gimmick of all time. Color Club's Cosmic Fate is a beautiful rosey copper shade that is slightly nude in effect but adds warmth and interest to an otherwise basic color. This formula from the brand also happens to be insanely pigmented and most of the holos are one coat wonders.

Finally is OPI's Casino Royale. This was part of the James Bond Holiday release from last year.  It is the perfect grape/berry toned cream. This shade does this magical thing where it looks vampy and sophisticated all at once. With so many other eye catching colors in the collection this was released with Casin Royale ended up being a bit of a dark horse and hands down my favorite shade of the bunch.

You will definitely see my favorite lip products for the season coming up shortly but it might be waiting until I get my hands on these!
